Does anyone know whether it is permitted to move my foul water downpipe to the side of my house in a shared alley. We are end of terrace (3 bed standard Lanodon terrace) and building a rear extension. To make the most of the new downstairs space, I want to divert the waste pipe from where it exits the rear of the house upstairs and take it accross to the side of the house, dropping it down and into the extended foul drain pipe. We are head of the run, so none of the sewers belong to Thames Water.
