Can I render over these bricks

Hi everyone I have this wall in my garden which I want to paint white over I’m looking to possibly render over the bricks and smooth it down then paint white, but I don’t know if the render will stick to the bricks?. I’m looking to buy the ready made render mix as I’m a novice at this, would it work? Any advice or help would be great thank you

You would need to strip the paint first and being an outside wall will have no DPC so render may flake and paint peel also. Why not buy / make a fence panel and fix it to the wall as a dummy fence matching the existing with a little shelf to disguise the step in it?

Can I fit a mesh to the brickwork then render on top?

remove the loose paint with a rotary wire brush on a drill, then render it.
after removing the loose stuff you can buy ‘rendagrip’ to paint over it to provide a key.
