Can I use 2 gang 2 way switch to do 2 one way lights?

Hi guys!

I’m wanting to put two lights on the same switch, but can’t find what I want as a two gang one way, can I use a two gang two way as for two different lights? And does this work with 3 gang etc?

Yes an intermediate will work as two way, and a two way as on/off but not the reverse. Normal wiring is with two way line in L1 line out L2 and com goes to com on second switch as of course L1 and L2 also connect to L1 and L2 on second switch, with on/off the line in Com and line out L1. Swapping L1 and L2 swaps which way is off and which is on, just make sure com goes to correct wire.

The 2 way switch terminals will be marked C, L1 and L2. Just use the C and L1 terminals.

not sure why Eric wrote a book on intermediate switches, you don’t have one of those!

take a photo of the old switch wiring before you disconnect, just in case.
