Was about to order a new detector when I noticed that although the one I chose was suitable for use in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, it was not suitable for use in Scotland. Why?

Thanks for the quick reply but I have just discovered the following answer to your question:

“Any detector that allows for the batteries to be removed or replaced is not allowed. The unit must have a sealed, tamper-proof battery”.

Yes, thought that might be the case. Sealed units only.

Have a look at Aico. You can even make the Ei208 tamper proof.
