I have had cavity wall installation but after the installer had left I found that the attic in my bungalow was full of wool from the installation.

How can I check to see if the wall has been properly insulated or whether most of the wool went into the roof space??

Sounds like a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad installation.

Seriously, wool comes from sheep. Whatever insulation they've used has probably just overflowed the cavity and the residue hopped over the inner leaf into your loft. Take a gander down the cavities from the loft and make sure they are all full.

Post some piccies if you're unsure.

you should be OK ;) the machine just keeps pumping until there is a set resistance - meaning the area is full - you did actually get a load free then @ some point it started building in the cavity and the machine stopped and they moved to the next hole
