Hello there,

I'm new on here and I've already got a question!

The main bedroom in our flat is in an uninsulated, unheated attic and as you can imagine, it's freezing in the winter and boiling in the summer. It's about time I insulated the ceiling so my question is:

Would I be able to fit something like Celotex straight on top of the existing plaster board and then put new plasterboard over that? Would there be an issue with condensation as I'm presuming there must be a need for some sort of air gap?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Matt

Thanks for your answer. Would I be able to attach the Thermaline boards on top of the existing plasterboard or would I have to remove the old plasterboards first?

Many thanks,

Matt
