Hello,

I have had installed a new closed (combi boiler) CH system and am getting problems with a clicking noise upstairs. Sounds like a clock ticking loudly. The guy who fitted the system said it was faulty thermostat valves and replaced them but the problem hasn't gone away. I phoned the guy and he told me to try changing the flow direction on the valves, other than this he didn't know and said I should contact the boiler people (Baxi). I changed the flow direction and it hasn't made any difference.

Any ideas as to what my problem is and what the remedy is?

Thanks

Colin

clicking noise upstairs

I think you are going to have to be more specific.

Does it click all the time like a clock, intermittently, when the boilers on, CH on, HW on?

And where upstairs? Where's the boiler - upstairs, downstairs...... If you trace the clicking noise, where is it actually coming from?

Boiler is in airing cupboard.

Clicking noise occurs if the boiler is on or off.

It's heating that we notice.

It can last for ten minutes, stop for a few minutes then last for 30 mins and so on.

It seems to be associated with the radiator inlet valves (thermostatic).

It clicks just like a clock in a quite room.
