I have 8 x rads with 8mm valves fitted. I want to c/out to TRVs but can't seem to locate plain 8mm trv's. I can find plenty of trv's labelled as 8mm but they are basically 10mm or 15mm with reducers & I don't have sufficient tail length to fit an 8mm to 10/15mm conversion.
I basically wanted to c/out with minimum fuss and use the existing 8mm tail/olive & locknut on the new TRV. Could any of you guys help? Are olive removal tools of any use on 8mm pipe?

Regarding olive removal I usually cut through the side of the olive with a junior hacksaw. Just enough to release the pressure on the olive.

You don't have to fit a separate converter/reducer.
The reducer fits into the compression nut. It will be very little bigger than a dedicated 8mm valve.
