--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hi,
could anybody tell me what they use to do this as im gonna tackle changing the rear calipers cos they have seized.as i type this i am wincing because i havnt anything other than mole grips haynes says use a brake clamp hose..ive had a look today and dont think theyre worth 5 squid, besides the hose is not flexible its as hard as nails!!
could i get away with some cloth wrapped around hose then nip up with grips???im a tad apprehensive of splitting it...maybe its the cold weather thats hardened them slightly??

It's ok to use mole grips but you need to be very careful that you don't overtighten and damage the flex hose. All you want to do is stop the fluid from dripping and as it isn't going to be under any pressure, it doesn't take much to stop it.
