A lock shield valve on one of the radiators was leaking. Water was coming out from the top spindle. So I closed the thing. I don't see any water now. However the boiler still loses pressure everyday, albeit at a slower rate.

Is it possible that there's an unnoticeable leak on the lock shield valve ?

Yes, it may still be weepimg slightly, but evaporating on hot valve before becomming noticeable. Tighten the gland nut a bit - not over tight. The gland nut is the small one below spindle on tap of valve.

Or you have a leak somewhere else.v Check other valves, drain off cocks, etc, etc, etc.

The valve isn't hot, it's cold.

Anyway, I will try to tighten the gland nut.
