I've had one radiator removed from the kitchen, after which the upstairs radiators remain cold. I've had a boiler service and at the same time they tried to resolve the cold radiators. They have recommended a Chemical Flush, which has been quoted at £580. I just wanted to check to see if any of you had another recommendation which would be cheaper. Also is there a difference between a power flush and a chemical flush?

Thanks for your help

have you tried shutting downstairs rads to push full flow upstairs ?
what type of system is it ?

The gasman tried that when he was looking at the radiators.

I'm not sure what type of system, its a combi boiler with 2 downstairs and 3 upstairs radiators.

did you see him try it or is he out for a quick earner

It looked like it from my inexperienced eye. He also connected a rubber pipe to one of the downstairs radiators to allow some of the water to come out.

could be an airlock. one rad being removed cannot suddenly stop all the others from warming - unless an airlock.....
