I'm changing my Oil boiler as it is over 15 years old. Do I go for a Combi boiler or the style with a Tank (I don't use much tap water because I have a dishwasher and a shower, probably heat the water 3 times a week for a bath.

Regards

John

You will be better with a heat only boiler with a fast recovery cylinder.

Oil fired combis have a store to pre heat before hot water is produced. This makes them much less efficient.

They tend to have far more problems than standard boilers.

Well acctually I have a LPG gas boiler that is 15 years old, and needs changing. Every one tells me I should change to oil. My only problem is I know ****. Not sure wether to go combi or have a tank

When I was servicing oil boilers I always found the oil combis to have all the problems.....bigtime!

Standard oil boilers were a lot more reliable. So I'd go for an oil boiler + unvented cylinder to give the best shower performance.

Think about a replacement LPG combi with weather compensation, in view of your hot water usage.
