In the past, we experienced the issue where the boiler would just keep resetting itself. There was never any heat in the radiators, but the water was always hot. We had the fan and the circuit board replaced with a newer-looking display front when, even the water would not heat, though the model type remained the same.
Now a green light will flicker on and off for a short while and a steady amber light remains on. I've looked through all the manuals and have no idea what the amber light means, but we still do not have any heat in our radiators!
Can anyone suggest a reason as to how to get our heat on?!

Boiler is in standby..External controls not sending 240v to boiler to tell it to switch on...Do you still just have hot water only :?:

Yes, we only have hot water. All the radiator knobs that van be adjusted, are adjusted to max heat, the wall dial is set to a decent temperature, and the digital wall control that has program settings for both the water and the heat, says that the heat should be on.
I have tried various temperature selections on the boiler (i.e. max temp, half temp, 3/4 temp, etc) and it seems to have no effect. I just want heat!

OK,,,Prob a Motorised valve fault in your airing cupboard is there a white/silver box with three pipes coming out of it or two white/silver boxes both with two pipes coming out.

Ok. One of the white boxes is the motorised valve for your heating. They have a little Synchron motor inside (If you can get to it) thats proballay failed...You will need to get some electrical tests done to estabilish where the power stops.
