Can anyone help please? 18 years ago we converted an old farmhouse and barn that had cement floors. Joists and then chestnut boards (planks) were placed over the stone floors in most rooms. These now squeak loudly when trodden on, in all areas - not just one plank, but all of them. Is there any possible treatment available for this other than replacing the floors? Hope someone out there can give us an answer - thanks for reading this.

nails have probably lifted, get a countersink drill bit and some suitable screws, screw down firmly into joists.
I that dont work theres a bigger problem underneath.

When we had creaky floor boards, i powdered the joints with talcum powder, worked a treat!
