Damage to Skimmed Walls

Hello

5 years ago I had the interior of my dads bungalow skimmed. Two years on we had really bad rain that penetrated an external wall and came into the bedroom. We used a dehumidifier and eventually it dried out. But some of the plaster became damaged with sort of raised bubbles in a few small areas and white patches which looks a bit like salt.. Because the room wasn't being used nothing got done about the bubbles or decor.

Three years on, I want to redecorate - what should I do about these raised bubbles and white marks? Can it be repaired or do I need to have the wall re-skimmed?

You can remove the loose and clean the salt off with white vinegar, I would repeatedly clean for a few days, then make good with filler and or plaster depending on the damage.

If you haven't already done so then get the cause of the problem sorted first or all the effort could well be a waste of time.
