hi, opinions on the following would be welcomed:

i've noticed that the internal wall by my front door is wet. damp is arising from the skirting upwards, so not from leaking above.i live in a victorian terrace, and the previous owner had damp proofing done (?about 6 years ago-should have the paperwork in a "safe" place somewhere!)

the area is about 40cm wide x 60 cm long. it's the area between the front door into the corner.no other walls/areas are damp. ie the wall at right angles (which is an external wall as is the alleyway) is not affected at all. could it be that the damp proofing is in some way compromised? would it just affect one little are though?

suggestions greatly appreciated,

cheers

A picture would be nice.

Otherwise, what shape is the damp patch?

Could rain be getting in round the door frame? Or water dripping from a gutter on the other side of the wall?

What is the floor made of?

Is there a radiator, water main or any other water-containing object nearby? ?
