Decorator's caulk or General purpose sealant ?

I have some edges which need something to look nicer and then I will most likely paint over.
e.g. where door frame meets wall, where window frame meets wall, where two skirts meet, where wall meets ceiling etc.

Which should I choose? ( The sealant is not silicone btw )

Do you mean a hybrid sealant adhesive? Says they can be painted over, but I've never done it and also wondering how well they take paint myself as they have some flexibility.

The hybrid mastic paint over fine. Can't mess with its like caulk, as that dissolves in water but silicone and hybrids don't.
