Do i need to have this type of shower's water output fully on?

This is probably a stupid question as i am sure the answer is yes, but thought i'd make sure.

You can see from the below pic the shower is fitted direct to the wall (power shower i think)? and has the 2 switches, top one turns ther water on and bottom one changes the temprature.

I am talking about the top one that turns the water on, if i just turn it a bit only a bit of water comes out, in general thats what you would want, but the shower is pretty powerful and i wouldn't mind having the output down a bit which would also save on the water consumption, but is this fine? or should a shower like this always have the full flow coming out?#

A shower with very good flow,usually its the opposite question often aired here :)

A 'shower flow regulator'could be fitted in between the wall & hose connection to reduce the flow.Then the on/off shower valve would need to be fully turned on. Just work out what flow rate you like in lpm's.

google 'shower flow regulator' they are mainly used to reduce water consumption :idea:
