Hi all first post!!

I have an old ceiling in my bedroom which I believe has distemper on it, was planning on double boarding over with another sheet of plasterboard. A few quick questions!

  • What is the best thickness plasterboard to use?
Should these be nailed or screwed in to the old ones?
Will doing this reduce cracking if people walk in the loft above it after its plastered ?
Will I have issues using my tilted downlights with two layers of plasterboard?

Thank you kindly! :)
