Hello All

Would appreciate if anyone in the know could give me a ballpark cost for the following ensuite:

2m x 1.2m ensuite
Fit shower cubicle, shower valve, toilet and sink (cut into existing soil stack which is conveniently located)
Fit shower pump, downlighters and extractor
Tile floor and possibly inside shower cubicle

I'll supply all tiles and sanitary ware.

Many thanks in advance.

There was a chap who used to post on here who would have done it for one million pounds.....with a lifetime guarantee.
Sadly he doesn't post here any longer so you've missed your chance there.

Its often better to get tiling done by a tiler.

Ditto lighting and supply for shower pump by an electrician.

Plumbing by a plumber.

Its very difficult to assess whats involved and I find it very odd that you dont know if you want the "inside" of the shower tiled.

Its most usual to tile the wall and then fit the shower!

I would say about £800-£1400 perhaps. East Europians are usually cheaper as they dont bother with electrical regulations or RCDs etc.

Thanks Tony. I've been quoted £4750 and felt it was a tad high. I was only really looking for a ballpark so many thanks. The tiling 'decision' was purely in a bid to keep costs down as it's a guest ensuite, but ultimately probably won't make that much difference.

Even better, someone that specialises & understands what’s involved with complete bathroom renovations, who will do the lot except maybe the electrics  ;) . You should consider all the work as one rather than splitting it into separate jobs which can be a recipe for disaster if work is incorrectly/poorly done or poor quality/inappropriate materials are used.

I think I've found someone now Richard..he does the bulk of the work himself but gets a tiler and electrician in as required.

Fingers crossed his quote is OK!

Watch the tiler; like in all trades there are some numpties about. Have a read of the Tiling Forum sticky & archive posts so you can be a little clued up & check he’s not skimping on materials & what he's doing is OK. ;)
