Hi,
I have a British Gas F2 Boiler, which I understand to be a Potterton Profile. In the past 3 months it has stopped working 3 times. By not working I mean it is not firing up and heating either Hot Water or Central Heating.
Each time it goes wrong it conincides with someone moving items in the cupboard in and around the Actuator (Honeywell SM3203, 2 port). As the actuator was not fixed securely the answer seemed simple. Secure it properly so that when it gets banged there is no issue.
Before securing it I checked that the actuator was working and it is. Also it is possible to turn the valve by hand. Not sure if it is meant to turn this easily. Some feedback to tell me it is or isn't would be good.
Having secured it I expected things to come back to life, but nothing. I can hear the actuator turning and the pump humming but the boiler is not firing up.
What checks can I do to determine which part of the system is faulty. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated
