Ferroli Combi Boiler cuts out after about 5 minutes

When CH is on the boiler cuts out after about 5 minutes, you can then hear the fan starting and stopping. Is it likely to be a thermister on the central heating. It works fine for hot water

COuld be several things - pump, circulation, thermistor(s), fan, pressure switch, pcb, your neighbour poking a stick in because he's fed up with the noise...

It won't be pressure switch will it as the hot water wouldn't work?
