Ferroli Combi concern

During the winter months when the heating is used regularly there is no problem with my combi. But, during the summer when the heating is not used the boiler seems to have a problem.
When you run the hot water and then stop, the heating pump kicks in and runs for anything from 5 minutes up. Sometimes the only way to stop the heating pump is to turn the power off?
The gas also comes in for short periods of time on occasions.
Any advice would be nice!

I would suspect the experts will want a bit more information about the model of boiler & age, Ferroli make quite a few.
