Hi
We moved into a new place which had sanded/varnished floor however in fairly poor condition. So we hired a sander. The problem is the sander has taken back 99% of the floor to the original (pine we think) boards.
We have been left with small sections which we have tried to remove by hand. Have tried heatgun and nitromore to remove top layer of varnish but are left with a yellowy stain. We have tried hand sanding but it seems to be very deeply ingrained in places. Wirewool scrubbing and white sprit it not removing this 'stain' either.
We did a trial patch of our varish (Ronseal diamond in walnut) but you can see the two different colour through it.
The only think we can think of is to effective stain the whole floor this yellowy first... but dont know what to use.
Can anyone help?
