Fisher & Paykel Refrigerator Water Filter - Part no 847200

We replace the water filter in the above fridge/freezer every six months as recommended. Two years ago these cost £43 each delivered in UK. They are now charging £63.48 per filter. I'm not mean but spending £126 per year on a fridge water filter seems excessive to me. It feels like F & P are just ripping their customers off.

I'm going to mull this over for a couple of days and my question to the great and good amongst you is:

1. Is there and alternative source or brand of quality filter that will fit this F & P water filter housing ?
2. Is there a decent quality inline water filter unit that will accommodate the 6.32mm OD F & P water pipe ?
3. Any other suggestions.

Excuse the pun but I think I am going to have to swallow this one. I've posted this just incase others have decided not to be exploited in this manner by OEM pricing.

1. Take a picture of the filter and do a Google image search. Maybe it's not a unique part.
2. Just use a filter jug, then you're not tied in.
