Fitting A sHOWER

MY shower just wont get hot, so i think the thermostat has gone. I am going to fit a new shower, the question is how do i find out what kw shower i can put in?

see what size cable is supplying your currant one, 7.5 - 10 watt on 10mm cable, check what watt your currant shower is

i want to put the most power full one i can. if i can put a 13.5 watt that what i want.

what cable do you have to have in for a 13.5 kw shower?

Get a sparky or Part P plumber, you may make a good job but if you didn't it would be curtains (not shower ones).

I think will be able to do it. I have fitted a bathroom suite (No shower of course). Added radiators etc. So think i be ok.

It will depend on the length of cable as well as the power rating of the shower, but you will be looking for 10mm cable at least, as well as upgrading the fuse/mcb for the new circuit and possibly any isolating pull switch

16 mm is recomended, but anything to do with changing electrics you will need a part p qualified sparky in to do so and get the work signed off.

it won't be legal if you need to change the wiring, and why you'd want to risk it when you can get a cable put in professionally, and safly.

I have put my cooker wire in and added sockets and put in lights before!

I dont think anybody is doubting that you could do it, just that you need to have the work certified afterwards if doing it yourself (which will be hard to find a sparky willing to do that) or get a sparky to do the install.
The cable size depends on a few things, the length of the run, how it will be fixed to name a few. As somebody mentioned your fuse box may need upgrading with the correct fuse/MCB.
