I am looking to replace existing radiator valves with TRVs. Looking at a drayton trv the fitting that goes in the radiator is longer than the existing. By this I mean that on the existing valves the distance between the radiator and the copper pipe centre is 1.5" with the TRV it would be 2" . This would mean that if I changed the valve and the lockshield I would have to spring the pipework by 1" which I don't think would be feasible.
Does any one have any ideas? or is it a matter of brute force and ignorance?
