i have a 90cm range cooker, with a single electric oven

The fan in the oven doens't start right away wen u turn the oven on.

It used to work fine, but a few weeks ago started acting up. It takes a few turns of the control knob to get the fan to start up, once it has started it works fine, there is no noise and sounds ok like normal

The oven heats up without the fan starting, so it is just the fan which is not working properly.

Could this be a dirty fan, or do u think it needs the motor as well as the fan blade, or could it be something else such as a faulty knob switch

thanks in advance

yep you where right, degreased the fan and hey presto it worked

apart from being yucky it was an easy thing to do

many thanks

That's probably only a temporary fix the fan motor bearings have probably gone you need a new fan motor.
