Garden inspiration

We have recently moved into a house with a long, narrow, north-west facing garden - not the easiest. We don't know much about gardening, but enjoyed it in the last garden which was lovely and sunny all day and easy to deal with.

Can you guys recommend any books/websites where we can get inspiration to make the most out of what we got now?

I'd have a browse in the library for books.
In terms of websites I use rhs.org and the bbc gardening site. I find them very good. good luck!
