ge washer will just stop

I have a ge profile washer a few years old, it will stop, shut off and won`t turn back on, like no power, we tried a few times to get it just to turn on, but nothing, now all of the sudden it turns on,but for how long ? What can be the problem ?

A motor going bad can heat up and shut off on it's overload switch. If you wait about 30 minutes for it to cool it will start up again only to shut off on its overload once it heats up again. If it seems to run ok, and then heats up and shuts off, I would check into the motor.
