Glow Worm 100e C/H water too hot

Hi.
Anyone any suggestions please. I have a Glow Worm 100e boiler, the radiators are getting very hot and the Pressure Gauge dial is reaching the 3bar mark when the heating is on. I have set the central heating control knob to its lowest setting but it's still the same.

At first sight the temperature sensor may be out of calibration or faulty.

With the boiler cold measure the resistance.

But it could be several other things too!

Many thanks, I will give it a try. Can you tell me if I will need to drain the central heating water if I need to replace ?

I think these are stupid things that just clip onto the outside of the pipe and have very flimsy connectors.
