Just got back from 2 weeks hols and my boiler is cold and will not fire. The pressure is showing as 0.2 bar. Gas and elec are connected fine to the property. Boiler is a Vokera Mynute 20e and about 13 years old so it does not have a 2 digit display like the newer models on their website.

Pilot light is out. It does not even attempt to ignite. I've tried resetting it for a 10 mins and retrying - but did not work.

Do I need to do something to get the pressure up to 0.5?

I expect i need to call a heating engineer but wanted to check if there was something I could try first myself.

Thanks

you need to top the boiler pressure upto 1.0 using the filling loop (silver braided hose)

Hi,,
I have the same problem as above. What is the filling loop and what do I do with it! Really appreciate your advice. thanks

The filling loop is used to fill and pressurise a sealed system. When opened it allows water to flow from the mains into the heating system. Usually it is a silver coloured braided hose with a quarter-turn valve at each end - both must be opened to allow the water to flow. Sometimes though it is built in to the boiler, in which case your boiler handbook will contain the information you need.

Strictly speaking you should remove the hose after filling / pressurising the system, but I'd be surprised if anyone actually does.
