Hi

I have a small wooden cupboard in my living room where the fuse box is. I would like to paint it the same colour as my walls with my MATT emulsion. I know this is technically a no go as matt paint doesn't have the same protective qualities as gloss. But, would I be able to seal the paint with pva afterwards too provide a similar quality to gloss?

Thanks in advance

Thanks misterhelpful.

That makes sense with the repainting issue with using pva as the top layer... And I would imagine could be a rather untidy finish. I had a pot laying around and thought it might be useful for this task.

I'll get a clear pot of the varnish you suggested :)

Appreciate the help!

Cheers

Would like to agree with misterhelpful.
Back last year I had a client who wanted me to wallpaper a long bathroom wall with a picture of a seascape they found in the USA, with some Farrow & Ball matt paint on the other 3 walls.
To seal over the picture and walls, I used the Polyvine varnish in a matt finish to cover everything. Worked a treat. Was back with the client a week ago and all still looks ok.
