help with disassembling a sony blueray "BDV-E6100" disc reader, converting it to an external disc reader and using it for my computer

I understand that the title is quite long, but let me explain.
recently I've found myself in the need for a external disc drive, and unfortunately, my budget has proven to be insufficient for this undertaking.

fortunately, however, an old and quite useless Sony blueray, model "BDV-E6100", and it had a disc drive attached to it.
my plan is fairly simple. remove the disc reader, convert it into a makeshift external disc drive and finally find a way to attach it with a USB into my computer.

I'd like to know if anyone had experience in any stage of my project, and if you do please share it with me. I'm quite clueless, and this is my first project.
