I'm doing some reinforcing of roof space at the rear of my building. My SE has put together some fairly detailed instructions in terms of bolting the timber plate under the roof ridge to the party wall (M12 resin bolts, fixed between each rafter) but he's omitted to say to what depth the anchors should be driven into the brickwork. The timber plates are 200mm thick before I reach the brickwork.

Are there any rough 'n' ready calculators out there to work out how deep an anchor has to be driven into brickwork etc.?

Thanks in advance.

There is a diagram in the resin box. Also the threaded rod has a mark on it. that is the drill depth too.

cheaper to get some studded bar and cut to the length you require...

A single skin, 70mm depth... So add your depth of timber, then add 30mm for a nut and washer.. maybe 50mm just to make it easier...
