Honeywell Froststat TA 160A

Hi there

Can anyone tell me if a Honeywell Frostat will operate even when the central heating control is switched to OFF? The Frostat is located next to a very old Glow-worm boiler in a cold storeroom accessed from the outside of the house and is set to come on when the temperature reaches freezing. It is not my house and I am unfamiliar with these controls. The central heating control is located in a pantry in the house itself. Any helpful advice appreciated!

If it is wired correctly then yes.

In such a cold room it will be easy to test it by temporarily turning the dial from the usual 3C up to nearer 20C and the boiler should fire up, whatever the programmer setting.
