machine trips mcb when plugged into mains and switched on-trip goes straight away does not even start.
machine is 1.1 yrs old,
have taken top off, wires from plug connect to a white (i believe a capacitor???).
found out through trial and error that when i disconnect all wires from capacitor but connect neutral and earth incoming wires trip goes.
i know you need special kit to test a capacitor so is it safe to bypass it?
i think the capacitor allows the single phase motor to spin one way only?

bypassing the capacitor(if that is what it is) would prove the fault
please help
