Since xmas my hot water has been coming out quite slowly intermitely, it is now doing it all the time. Cold water is fine and heating seems to be fine aswell. When i do turn the hot tap on the boiler make a much louder noise than usual. To fill a sink takes forever (its still hot though) Help

I assume this is a Grant Combi 90. Am I right? Regardless, normally this would be a scaled up plate heat exchanger, but it might be the blending valve.

Do you have the ability to deal with it?

it is a firebird combi 90 and its outside in a large container. Ive had it 14 months and it was serviced oct 08

Do you have hard water?

Is there some sort of water treating device fitted for the cold supply to the boiler?

No theres no device.
The combi is situated under the kitchen window to the right but the noise seems to be coming from the pipes to the right which rises up into the bungalow. I thought it was because it was maybe frozen as it was only now and then but its all the time now and its not that cold and the heating and cold tap is fine

It is unlikely the hot side is frozen while the cold side is fine.

I have said what the possible reasons are, what have you done by way of further investigation?

You asked if I had a cold water device fitted and i said no ?

I said i thought it was frozen but realized that was not the cause

Firebird isolator check valve approx £17.00

As for labour, max 1/2 hr plus callout. (including coffee break)

How close to Wrexham are you. ?
