turbine faulty, only made in feb this year still under gtee ,nothing you can do call it in for foc repair.

Hi there,

I've got the same problem and just wanted to ask a question of Rocks1. Firstly, my washing machine packed up the other day (Hotpoint WF540), all lights flashing, then Lights 2 and 4. I read your threads on this and took out the pcb board to get the number and search for a replacement, but noticed the 680 mf E-Cap was bulging. Having done a bit of electronics I got a replacement and resoldered it...job done! (27p rather than £100 for call out!) So thanks very much for the help on that!!

next day, all the lights start flashing on my FDM550, couldn't believe it! Your diagnosis of a turbine fault seems to fit as the machine didn't stop functioning when I opened the door, but the blades weren't turning either...

My question is, is there anything I can check, order , replace myself without calling hotpoint out? Guarantee ended recently!

I'm fine with taking machines apart but just don't know what to look for!

Thanks for any advice, from looking at other responses on this forum you seem to be single-handedly solving the white goods problems of the nations, and for that I salute you!

Cheers,

Dan

Thanks for the quick reply, just to clarify...what's the 'mc?' main case? Sorry to be slow!

I'll try it tomorrow.
