Hotpoint Extra WMA34 Washer

My washer has suddenly developed a very loud buzzing / droning noise as soon as a program starts. This stops as soon as water starts coming in, but continues at regular intervals throughout the cycle.
Any ideas anyone?

My washer is about the same age - could this be my solution too?

nope its not that, clean filter assy and pump you have a bra wire or cotton bud in the pump pipe.access to pump /filter is at the back lower panel 4 screws

O/H thought it might be the pump but I had my doubts when I saw the other posting.
