Sorted now! 
That old high tech remedy of switching off at the mains and switching on again did the trick!!!!
The following lights are flashing and it won't start:
on/off switch
Drying high heat
time saver
Can anyone help? I am only renting here - so don't want to start pulling the machine out etc - is it something I need to get in touch with my landlord about?
