when spinning, the machine sounds as though its going to fall apart. only about three years old. the noise is worse when on high spped spin. no problem we can hear when washing. it also will not stay put and moves a few inches after a few washes.

Have a read through all the threads that reference hotpoint bearings.
Could a couple of reasons. but as it's a hotpoint, odds are it's the bearings.

thanks for the prompt reply. if this is the case and they are a weak point then presumably they will wear out in another couple of years, unless Hotpoint have had the foresight to replace them with better quality material.
Yes. They probably will, and sadly no, they haven't.
