hotpoint wf540 very very very long cycle

Hi, when i put a load on to wash it just keeps washing and doesn't end program, any ideas??

check heater at the back poss open circuit.

thanks for quick reply.how do i check if heater is faulty?

with a meter or continuity tester if it dont registar on the meter its duff or if it dont bleep .
