Hotpoint WLD540 all lights flashing not pumping out

Hi,
I have a WLD540 with a later version PCB than described in previous posts. The power supply components are on a daughter board and there's no C17!
My symptoms are during a cycle when it comes to the first pump out the pump stays on for a short time then all the lights flash.
In addition if I fill up with program 'A' then move to program 'C' to pump out the pump only stays on for a second, pumping out a small amount of water then does nothing for 3 minutes and then the green 'end' light turns on with the drum still full of the remaining water.
Any ideas?

Thermistor faulty on heater box. Swap it with wash thermistor then buy a new one.

I was on a wash only cycle. Does a thermistor fault still have this symptom?
I tried a few searches but couldn't find a description of where the heater box and wash thermistor are and what to do! Do you have a link to an old post?

The heater box is under the top lid. A big silver box , the thermistor is on the right hand side with two thin blue wires on it. The wash thermistor is at the back of the drum down the bottom in the middle of the heater.

the blue thermistor wire had sheared at the strain relief at the top of the drum.
I'll join it and see what happens...
