hotpoint wm51 changed brushes

hi i changed the brushes in my machine this morning and it did two loads of washing.

now its stopped working and when i looked 1 of the spade connectors has melted a little is my machine done for?

Did you pull the tabs out so the brushes are longer.

yes i did. the machine works just the drum wont move anymore. when it spun the last load it made a strange noise.

Refit the brushes , check the belt is on. Also check the wiring block on the motor for a loose connection

You may find there are differences between the thicknesses of the spades on the new and old brushes, this can cause the new receptors to sit loose on the brush unit. A light squeeze with the pliers before you push them on should make things better.
