We have established there's a leak somewhere in the piping, our Vaillant loses pressure over a 48hour period. We've had leak sealer in and it solved the problem for 5 days. We've changed a radiator with a rusty valve connection. No joy

Problem is, there are no obvious damp patches showing on teh walls or ceilings. How do you start looking for that?

Once you have established that the problem is not a leak within the appliance, as suggested by Gas4you (he,s an ARGI member) you could try raising the system pressure to two bar pressure with the system cold.

Then turn the heating on and note how much the pressure rises in percentage terms once its at max temperature.

What you will be doing is establishing if the Boiler expansion vessel is OK, its a long shot but you need to accept that to cure your Large Power Providers problem, you will have to eliminate the obvious before going on to find the less obvious.

So, your boiler is losing pressure & you have decided that because your ceilings are not falling down it`s a leak on the pipework.
Have you popped your head outside & checked that little copper pipe probably sticking out of the wall is not weeping / discharging water?
