How to measure mains pressure?

The question's in the title! How do I determine what my mains pressure is?

I actually want to determine a ballpark figure for the pressure at the entrance to my shower fitting. I measured the flowrate out. Is there any conversion based upon diameter of pipe or something like that? Or is there a tool? Or a phone call to the water board (though I'm on the 2nd floor of flats so pressure in won't be what I get)?
