When I first viewed the footage, I thought the ICE agent they were referring to was the one standing beside the drivers door. At that point I wasn't buying the rationale for their actions. However when I then realised there was an ICE agent standing in front of the vehicle pointing a gun at the windscreen, my firmer initial stance changed slightly. Not in a way that asserts I condone their actions, more the fact if you have an armed officer shouting at you to stop, self preservation suggests you should do so.

The problem with looking at it that way is that the US police don't exactly have a great reputation when it comes to using their guns...
Self preservation could also mean the desire to get the hell away from the situation would kick in...
Because the cop would quite likely shoot anyway!

ICE agents are not police. They are Musk's unregulated militia.
I agree, likewise - I didn't spot the agent, in front of the vehicle, on first viewing the footage. A unfortunate decision on her part, to attempt to drive off, and risk running him over.
What is really telling is how far politics has fallen in the US...

What incident are you looking at John?, in the one I've seen footage of, the agents can be clearly heard shouting 'Get out of the car'.

i would have thought anyone in the US would know you don't mess about with the trigger happy cops (esp the mad agency ones)

It is pretty obvious that they didn't mean to kill her, an unfortunate incident that is a tragic event but not that common.
I wonder what he intended when he fired at point blank range through her side window.
