We've found our water flow at 18 l/min with healthy water pressure at 3.3bar.. Old lead pipe to mains is limiting flow. We'd like to avoid the high cost of replacing this, but it appears it may be avoidable for sufficient water flow to be able to run two shower.
Anyone have any thoughts on what ideal system would look like under the current flow rates, any way to improve/optimize?

Or is it definitely worth the extra cost to open up the pipe - and lead to a much improved system.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You could fit an accumulator to take advantage of your mains pressure and increase your flow rate, but they take up quite a lot of space and can be expensive.

Personally I'd be upgrading the main unless you have a very large distance to the road. Should get a digger and a man to drive it for a day for £200-250, pipe and fittings about £50-£80...
