Hi can anyone tell me how to find out what size thermostat you need , when replacing broken one, before taking the old one out of hot water tank ? thankyou

Hi can anyone tell me how to find out what size thermostat you need , when replacing broken one, before taking the old one out of hot water tank ? thankyou
as its broken, you would have to remove it anyway to replace it.
turn off double pole switch.
pull immersion heater fuse or mcb at your consumer unit.
open the terminal box.
then disconnect the two wires,
then slide it out.
and when you buy a new one make sure it has a hi limit stat
